Holy Name Primary School caters firstly for the Catholic children of the parish. It is understood that parents who enrol their children at a Catholic school do so  because they want their children to be educated in the Catholic faith or, at least, in a Christian environment where values are taught.

The School has four intakes during the year - at the start of each of the four terms. Children to be enrolled in Prep need to have had their 5th birthday by 30th June in the year of entry to Prep. Children to be enrolled into Year 1 need to have had their 6th birthday by 30th June in the year of entry to Year 1.

All enquiries about your child starting Prep or Year 1 can be made at the school office on 4632 4694. Do not leave your enrolment until the last minute. Contact us today to arrange for an enrolment package to be posted to you.

Enrolment Procedure

Enrolment applications must be made using the school enrolment form and must be accompanied by the child's birth certificate/Visa document and baptismal certificate (if relevant). Enrolment interviews are held with the parents/guardians prior to the application being accepted.

The school contract agreement must also be completed fully (signed by parents/guardians). This is part of the enrolment form. For all enrolments to be effective they must have all the necessary paperwork completed and signed. Please complete the enrolment application form and post or deliver it to Holy Name Primary School.

Once completed, this form will be processed at Holy Name and an interview will usually take place.

At the interview, the following should be provided:
  • photocopies of current report cards
  • photocopy of birth certificate/s
  • information on health issues that will need to be considered
  • any relevant information on learning difficulties/disabilities
  • special family arrangements and custody documents
An administration fee of $50 applies on the successful completion of the enrolment application.

Enrolment for Children with Special Needs

Parents intending to enrol their child are obliged to inform the school of any disabilities or needs that their child may have which may affect their schooling.

If a child has a special need that may have significant impact upon their learning, or have an impact upon the human or physical resources of the school beyond the general learning program, the enrolment application must be processed by our Special Education procedure. This process is designed to ascertain a child's level of ability, the appropriate resources and programs needed to facilitate such a special program and the school's ability to meet the child's needs.

At the conclusion of the process the school Principal, in consultation with the Learning Support Teacher, decides upon the outcome of the enrolment application based upon the available information.
